Only BS-VI level diesel cars OK, notice awaited

New Delhi: Delhi’s three lakh diesel cars of up to BS-IV emission level have been temporarily banned with the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in NCR and adjoining areas implementing stage-IV of graded response action plan (GRAP).

As per the measures required to be taken when the air quality deteriorates to severe-plus category (air quality index above 450), the movement of dieselrun light motor vehicles (including private cars) except those of BS-VI emission level is restricted. Other transport-related measures taken with the implementation of stage-IV of GRAP include ban on entry of diesel trucks into Delhi except those carrying essential commodities and restriction the movement of Delhi-registered diesel-operated heavy and medium goods vehicles.
