<p id="1"><strong>New Delhi: </strong>By Friday evening, 71,741 students of the 80,164 allocated courses and colleges by Delhi University in the first Common Seat Allocation System round had accepted the allocations. The rest are required to confirm their acceptance of the allocations by Saturday 11.59am.</p>
<p id="2">DU officials also revealed that admission approvals were being processed for 54,395 aspirants, the rest having been cleared. The time given to colleges to verify and approve the online applications has been extended to Sunday 2pm, while the last date of payment of the admission fee will be October 24 till 5pm.</p>
<p id="3">&ldquo;The candidates must note that to participate in subsequent CSAS rounds, they must accept the allocations offered to them. Only those who secure admission in a particular round will be considered for upgradation in subsequent rounds, if applicable,&rdquo; explained DU registrar Vikas Gupta.</p>

<p id="2">The window for &ldquo;upgrade or reordering the higher preferences&rdquo; for the second round of CSAS will open at 5pm on October 25 and continue till October 27 only for candidates who have been granted&nbsp;admission and paid the fees. &ldquo;Candidates who haven&rsquo;t been allocated seats in the first round will be considered for the second round subject to availability of seatS as per the CSAS policy,&rdquo; said Gupta.</p>

<p id="2">Suman Sharma, principal, Lady Shri Ram College for&nbsp;Women, which has 1,200 seats, said, &ldquo;In our college, almost 95% of the allottees have accepted. We think admissions in our college are over more or less in the first round.&rdquo;</p>

<p id="2">DU has made extra allocations for each category. In Ramjas College, for instance, there are 1,633 seats on offer, but 1,900 students have been allocated to the college. Of them, Ramjas approved 800 by Friday. Tanvir Aiejaz, an admission co-ordinator, said, &ldquo;It seems the process will be completed in the first round. I don&rsquo;t think too many students will want to upgrade.&rdquo;</p>
<p id="3">At Indraprastha College for Women, of the 1,545 who accepted their allotments, 1,178 were approved for admission by Friday 5pm. At Sri Venkateswara College, 1.349 of the 1,665 allotments were finalised. At Ramanujan College, 880 allocations had been cleared by Friday and principal SP Agarwal said the rest would be done by Saturday.</p>
