Tented facilities have been provided alongside mobile toilets, water taps, ticket counters, and LED screens for information. The Delhi division of Northern Railway plans 159 trips by special trains comprising 1,130 coaches, most of them east-bound.

Trains with full reserved coaches plied during the pandemic. However, aware of the rush during Diwali and Chhath festivals in pre-pandemic times, we will run special trains this year based on the past record of the crowd and feedback from people."&nbsp;
According to railway officials, a mini control room has been made operational at New Delhi and Anand Vihar stations in view of the festive rush. Special duty officers have been deputed at New Delhi station for the peak rush period to oversee operations and coordination. Besides, additional commercial staff, RPF and RPSF, GRP, Civil Defence volunteers and scouts, and guides have been deployed for crowd&nbsp;control and to assist passengers.
To ease things for passengers, additional waiting areas and facilities have been arranged, including a tented arrangement at Ajmeri Gate with a holding capacity of 584 passengers. A second tent on Platform 16 at Delhi with a capacity of 417 has also been put up. The total passenger capacity in the temporary waiting areas at New Delhi railway station is 1,001.
At New Delhi station, 20 mobile toilets, 20 water taps at the tented areas, four reservation counters, and unreserved ticketing system booking counters with one enquiry counter, two LCD screens for train information, food and snacks stalls, and RPF helpdesk counters have also been put up. Similar arrangements have been made at Anand Vihar Terminal. Medical facilities, including the presence of doctors and the availability of ambulances, have been arranged.
