The Argonauts' season is still young but wide receiver Dejon Brissett is showing signs of progress in his game.

Now in his third CFL season, the 27-year-old is building off a successful campaign last year in which he played all 18 games, 13 as a starter. He had a career-high 38 receptions for 594 yards, and caught five touchdown passes.

Brissett had one of the Argos' three touchdowns in the home opener earlier this month, a 35-27 victory against the B.C. Lions. The starting role has provided a confidence boost.

"The biggest thing for me is the mental side of things," the Mississauga native said Tuesday. "You've got to watch enough film, you've got to communicate with your teammates, you've got to be taking notes at home and just really understanding your opponent. Those are the steps I took into this year."

While having a bigger role might bring some added pressure, Brissett welcomes it.
