While Meta is not yet a dominant force in the AI image generator market, Cox believes the company has a competitive edge due to its extensive repository of public images.
Cox emphasized that Meta does not use private or friendsonly photos for training purposes, focusing instead on publicly available content. According to Cox, Emu produces high-quality images thanks to Instagram’s diverse dataset, which he described as a rich source of “art, fashion, culture, and images of people.”
