As I stand in front of a room of expectant workshop delegates, there is a not insignificant pressure to offload knowledge in both quantity and quality; I feel an immense responsibility to add value to everyone attending. I suspect the pressure stems from my natural insecurity, my imposter syndrome – yes, it is always with me, even when writing these articles, and it spills over into my role as a coach and trainer.
No matter how hard I try to keep those two threads of my world separate, there is a blurring of the lines – I couldn’t do either without the other. One day I am working with our incredible clients, creating the images we have come to be known for, the next, I am teaching this craft of ours.
I like to think I have a unique style (don’t we all?) but, of course, many of my techniques were learned from those who helped me along the way. Like a chef, I learned from the very best and now have my own collection of tried-and-tested recipes… and many, I must admit, that never quite worked.
