Tommy Fleetwood from England successfully defended the Nedbank Golf Challenge title three years after winning the competition for the first time in the South African resort of Sun City.
“I am going to get stuck in,” he promised on Saturday after finishing the third round three shots behind the leaders, Belgian Thomas Detry and Dane Rasmus Hojgaard.
In a tense final round played against the backdrop of a gathering storm, a weather-delay, and with a tightly packed leaderboard, Fleetwood’s chip-in for eagle on the par-five 14th proved decisive as he went on to win by a single shot on 11 under par with a final round of 67.
