KEMPTON October 23 (standard to slow) 1m handicap (Class 5)
Competitive low-grade event
MASQOOL (James Evans) is coming to the boil and caught the eye running on strongly over a trip short of his best. This fella is a standing dish at Lingfield and its odds-on he'll pinch a race there this month. 1m handicap (Class 3) Red-hot handicap SILVER SWORD (Dylan Cunha) couldn't have looked fitter and was properly punted near the off (5s to 11-4). He lost nothing in defeat behind track champ Whitcombe Rockstar and will nick one of these if connections keep him busy on the all-weather.
NEWBURY October 26 (heavy, soft in places) 1m two-year-old fillies' novice (Class 4)
Impressive winner
THAT'S AMORE (Ralph Beckett) is a tall, scopey filly who looked ready to rumble on this debut. She proceeded to make mincemeat of a small but select field and could ruffle feathers in an Oaks trial next spring. WINCANTON October 27 (good) 1m7f juvenile hurdle (Class 4)
Race that lacked depth MACH TEN (Anthony Charlton) looked the part and hinted at ability finishing fifth. He whacked the woodwork a couple of times on the Flat and should grab a prize over hurdles if he sticks to the gaff tracks.
KEMPTON October 30 (standard to slow) 7f two-year-old fillies' novice (Class 4)m
Useful for the grade
DESERT SPRING (John & Thady Gosden) is bred to stay longer than a tickly cough and caught the eye staying on into sixth. She wasn't wound-up for this and will be a different proposition over a mile-plus.
ASCOT November 2 (good, good-firm in places) 1m7f152y handicap hurdle (Class 2)
Smart form
BREAK MY SOUL (Nicky Henderson) looked fighting fit and was unlucky to be touched off after travelling best throughout. She's on a tasty mark and will be hard to stop in mares' handicap hurdles.
