WHEN OBAN Lorne won the RBS Bowl at Murrayfield in 2013, they did so on the back of a huge pack and forward domination. Ten years on and the club from the West Highlands of Scotland are forging success in a different manner.
“Some say the way Scotland play at the minute is a bit chaotic, but the blueprint handed down from Scottish Rugby is encouraging: quick, attractive, effective rugby,” says the club’s youth convenor, Murray Hamilton. “That’s how you’re encouraged to coach. Oban Lorne are doing that – our rugby is mobile and fast.
