Percy Tau faces a busy time in the coming months and carries a large burden of responsibility as two major tournaments loom.
First, the nippy attacker goes to the Club World Cup with Egyptian giants AI Ahly this month, and then he will be the key man up front for South Africa as they compete at the Africa Cup of Nations finals.
The 29-year-old remains the poster boy for both club and country even if a brief spell in the Premier League was unsuccessful and he has been burdened by injury and a litany of niggles.
Few South Africans in recent times have made as much impact as Tau in cracking the international market. While it remains the ambition of the vast majority of local footballers to play overseas, few, if any, make the breakthrough.
