Duncan Lechesa is out to prove that lightning can indeed strike twice as he seeks to guide Polokwane City to the promised land of top-flight football for a second time!
It was as a relatively inexperienced 36-year-old coach that the former midfielder helped Rise and Shine win promotion to the PSL in May 2013 in extremely trying circumstances.
Amid the tension and drama of the title race in the final stages of the season, the club was still dealing with the trauma of losing four players - Khomotso Mpaketsane, Mojalefa Mphuthi, Koketso Takalo and Benjamin Nthete in a tragic car accident on their return from a league encounter against FC AK at Turfloop in November 2012.
It had taken Polokwane City, a club established in 2012 after the Mogaladi family bought the franchise of Ggeberha-based National First Division side Bay United, just one season to win promotion to the Premiership.
Soon after experiencing the euphoria of going up, Lechesa resigned, just a few weeks into the club's first taste of PSL football, after failing to win any of his first four league games of the new season.
