The top-ranked high school infielder of the 2023 class, Arjun slashed .479/.573/904 and earned district MVP honors in his senior season. His love of the long ball was formed on a different field, though.&nbsp;Arjun first played cricket, which he credits for the development of his swing mechanics.
"I used to swing the cricket bat, and it was always fun for me to hit the ball and watch it go," says Arjun, whose parents moved to the U.S.&nbsp;from India in 2002. "Being in the batter's box is for me a way to escape the outside world. I'm just out there to play my game and have fun."
Arjun was an unranked prospect until 2019. Two years later he soared to No. 12 after scoring 18 runs while hitting 14-of-23 with eight extra base hits at the Perfect Game 16U BCS National Championship. Now the Florida State signee is a possible top-10 pick in the July 9 MLB draft. Arjun says he tries not to think about the buzz surrounding him.
"It doesn't matter who I'm playing for," Arjun says. "Of course, come draft day, it's going to be exciting. I just want to go play pro baseball and show what I'm worth."
