A HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR DAN

FIT-AGAIN Leyton Orient striker Dan Agyei is hoping his goalscoring start to the New Year is a mere sign of things to come.

The 26-year-old joined the newly-promoted O’s from Crewe in the summer and was looking forward to showing what he could do back in League One. However, a foot injury on the eve of the campaign left him a frustrated onlooker in the opening months of the campaign.

“I got injured the week before the season started – it was a mental challenge for me,” he told The FLP. “During that time period I had to support the team and see how I could use my strengths when I came back. So far I feel I’m doing that.”

It wasn’t until the end of November that Agyei was able to make his debut, while his first start came in the middle of last month. Naturally, it took the Kingston-born attacker some time to regain his match sharpness, but the goals he craved are now arriving.

Impressive
