“Absolutely not,” laughs Lewis, who joined on a free transfer after rejecting a new contract with Newport in July.
“The bulk of the group has been here for two years and I think what’s happening now is really just a continuation of what those boys were doing last season.
“For the new guys, like me, that’s made things really easy. Everybody knew what they were doing, which made it very clear to me what was required, tactically and in terms of the work ethic. Honestly, it’s been seamless.
“Was I expecting to be unbeaten in October? Probably not. But as soon as I turned up and saw the squad we had, the quality of the players and the way they work, it was obvious to me how good we were. I think what happened last week made everybody else realise that as well.”
