Despite completing their first-half dominance with a Manny Monthe header, the Latics found themselves behind at the interval thanks to two terrific chips from Shots striker Josh Barrett.

The Shots striker then added a third soon after half-time compounded the misery for Oldham and inflicted only a second home defeat of the season on Mellon's men.

"It's a hugely disappointing result for us," the Latics boss told The NLP.

"In the first half, I thought we were cruising, I really did. But then I come in at the break and I couldn't believe we were losing. But the goals we gave away are rubbish.
