The Moors striker, who had netted the winner against Yeovil in midweek, scored a goal in each half to defeat Rochdale and end the Lancashire side's run of four straight wins.
"That is probably one of my best wins since I have been here." said buoyant manager Andy Whing.
"In terms of adversity with key player Matt Warburton getting subbed off in the first minute, we had to shuffle the pack. The team grafted for one another, we ended the game with no strikers on the pitch, we worked our absolute socks off.
"We have got quality, some of our stuff was brilliant considering the front four who started the first game of the season are not with us." On Wilkinson's brace, the Solihull boss added his praise. "Absolutely fantastic - the first one we have pressed and nicked it, great finish," he said.
"Second half, another fantastic finish one-on-one, he is such a good finisher.
