Molina is following in Baxter's footsteps
The Rugby Paper|January 12, 2025
IN the rugby world, players often emerge as leaders not only through their skill, but through their character, shaping their teams in ways that endure beyond the game.
- MARK STEVENS
Molina is following in Baxter's footsteps

Though separated by geography and time, it's hard not to see real comparisons between Rob Baxter in his own playing days and that of Franco Molina, below, the Argentinian who he has brought to Exeter this season to offer some sizeable prime beef to his Chiefs pack.

Over the years, Baxter's name became synonymous with the transformation of Chiefs, but his journey began humbly as a player. Joining the club in its lower division days, he demonstrated unyielding commitment, a willingness to do the hard work required to elevate the team to greatness.

Similarly, rugby path began in the passionate, yet challeng ing environment of Argentine rugby, where the sport is deeply ingrained in the culture, but sadly lacks the resources of larger rugby nations.

His dedication to imhimself and Molina's proving those around him clearly mirrors that of Baxter's own steely determination during his own playing days.

We need to watch rugby in the raw

ACCORDING to Inkoo Kang, a leading critic at The New Yorker magazine and, almost by definition, a writer whose words are barely distinguishable from music, it was \"like a box of bonbons gifted around the holidays: pleasing, elegant, forgotten as soon as it's consumed...driven by intricate plotting rather than by meaningful character development\".
