•Geochemical Surveys: Surface and subsurface samples are analyzed for hydrocarbon indicators like methane and ethane concentrations.

2. Geophysical Surveys

a. Seismic Surveys:

•2D Seismic Surveys: These involve generating shock waves using explosives or specialized trucks (vibroseis) and recording the reflected waves with geophones. The data provides a two-dimensional image of subsurface structures.

•3D Seismic Surveys: More advanced than 2D, these surveys cover larger areas and produce three-dimensional images, offering a more detailed and accurate picture of the subsurface geology.
