We reviewed the latest phone from Nothing, the Phone (2a), 8GB RAM &amp; 256 GB Black unit to be used with India SIM only. As usual, Nothing has brought out a phone (designed in London) that is attractive and unique to look at and also ticks off many features at an attractive price range. In a crowded marketplace of smartphones in various price points and specs, the Phone (2a) tries its best to stand out - both in software UI UX and also hardware.

The curved and circular NFC Coil and the two "eyes" or the camera lens give this an extra terrestrial creature-like look! We loved the matte finish side grip that makes the Phone (2a) feel secure in the hand. There is a lot of attention to detail and design elements like the glyph interface that is sure to delight users. You really have to look hard to find the branding at the back. It's a breath of fresh air amidst the sea of ostentatious smartphones screaming for attention.
Under the hood, the Nothing (2a) doesn't disappoint except the noticeable lag at times when you push it.&nbsp;Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro 5G processor and 8GB or 12GB RAM, it delivers responsive performance, handling multitasking, gaming, and multimedia consumption decently. Whether you're navigating demanding apps, or engaging in intense gaming sessions, the Phone (2a) handles them but with a lag which needs to be improved, maybe with a software update. Nothing claims that this phone has an advanced cooling system that helps with long gaming hours. The 5000 mAH battery stays ok for all these activities and more.
The 1300 nits, 120 Hz AMOLED display is another highlight of the Nothing (2a). Featuring an edge-to-edge AMOLED panel with vibrant colors, deep blacks, and good contrast it does its job well, whether you're watching movies, browsing photos, or scrolling through social media.

Day light photos, both normal and portrait mode come out as expected - crisp and well balanced but we observed a processing lag under even normal low light photography (for eg, city scape with plenty of lights everywhere). There are many options and settings in the camera app for both photos and videos that you can explore to make the most out of photography with the Phone (2a).
