IPL season is always exciting, but this time, we had a great experience even during those loud and extra-bass commercial breaks, thanks to the latest subwoofer from Sonos. The Sonos Sub Mini pairs only with a few amplified Sonos devices, and hence the brand provided a Sonos Ray soundbar along with the device.
The Sub Mini weighs 6.35 kg and has a cylindrical design with a stretched oval-shaped hollow centre with the dual woofer diaphragms facing each other. It offers flexibility in placement, except that you cannot place it horizontally. The device can be paired with Beam, Ray, Era 100, One, or One SL via the Sonos S2 app. Once the soundbar or speaker is set up, you can add the Sub Mini from the app using NFC. After that, you can connect the device to 5GHz WiFi, which enhances audio transmission speed. Apart from dual band WiFi, the device has an ethernet port to hardwire it to the router if needed. The sub has to be connected to the mains. The apps allows you switch the sub on or off. It allows you to adjust the sub level from -15 to +15 using a slider and also to reverse the phase. This is in addition to the bass control with the EQ sliders.
