Wireless power banks are quickly catching up in the accessories segment, and Ambrane has added a MagSafe compatible model in their portfolio. The Ambrane Aerosync PB10 offers wired charging in addition to Qi standard wireless charging and provides 10,000 mAh backup.
The Aerosync PB10 is made in India and has a fairly good build quality. The power bank includes a kickstand, which allows it to be used as a phone holder while charging wirelessly. Four white LEDs indicate charge status and a single green LED illuminates when the devices is using fast charging protocol Qualcomm Quick Charge QC) or USB Power Delivery PD). The device has one USB-A port for QC and one USB Type-C port for PD. The Type-C port is a two-way port that allows charge input. There is a button near the USB ports to start wireless charging.
MagSafe charging worked well with compatible iPhones. The magnet is not as powerful as Apple&rsquo;s MagSafe charger, and hence you cannot use the power bank as a support for heavier versions of iPhones like the 13 and 14 Pro Max. We found the PB10 to be quite heavy and bulky. Also, the pad has a significant bulge, which does not let all parts of the phone make contact with the surface. Standard Qi charging worked well with small devices like TWS earbuds, but we found it quite erratic with phones like Google Pixel 7. It would stop charging at the slightest movement of the phone.
