Multi AV is a brand focused on delivering practical, inexpensive solutions in the form of audio streamers across commercial and personal spaces. Their products have been well received, and the streamer units possess those raw progressive looks emanating from quality components simply put together into a box! After spending nearly a quarter of a year with the FLOW 1, I was excited to lay my hands on the new sibling, the FLOW 2 Mini. And it came well-packed and promising, just like the earlier unit. As expected, it preserves the phono stage box look bearing a neat fascia with a large dot LED indicator IR sensor, flashing in the center. I wish for a dimmer option on this one! The setup was brisk via the 4STREAM app using Wi-Fi, and became an integral part of the main system minutes! This app also notifies when firmware updates are available for the device.
The rear on the FLOW 2 Mini does not have a LAN input for a wired connection to a router, it restricts one to the wifi connection, no USB for pen drive insertion, no AUX IN for attaching external audio sources, but an AUX OUT for analog output to a power amplifier which formed my test connection. The 'step up' on the FLOW 2 Mini are the welcome provisions of an Optical output and a digital Coaxial output that would simply enable this unit to get connected to AV or stereo receivers. Of course, Bluetooth pairing is well present on board! There's that much needed RESET button to reset the device wi-fi, and a long press to restore its factory settings. Powering it remains convenient, using its 5V/1A micro USB port. The supplied analog RCA cable provided in the box, looks to be of nice quality too!
