Picturesque and enchanting, Kashmir is cradled high in the lofty green Himalayas and hailed all over the world for its incredible natural beauty. Synonymous with romance and love, it is a hot spot for couples. From honeymoons, post wedding shoots to even a private destination wedding, this place could be your pick.
Sonmarg and Gulmarg are perfect places for pre-wedding shoots, the picturesque views make for a stunning background. Kashmir is good to go to all around the year. March to October is great if you want to enjoy the summer there but November to February is when you can see the snow. Most tourists opt for the summer season, but the winters have their own charm.
DAY 1
Situated at the junction of Aru and Sheshnag Rivers, Pahalgam was the first place we decided to explore. It’s extremely popular for its adventure activities in addition to its breathtaking beauty. The sparkling Lidder river is famous for angling. Hop on to a horse and it takes you to Baisaran valley or “Mini Switzerland”. Covered in a blanket of snow, the view was breathtaking. It took us almost an hour on a horse to reach the view point but the ride was very comfortable with well trained, confident horses. Take advantage of the picturesque surroundings with planned photoshoots. Local photographers are aplenty, but you should be able to bargain well. The location is perfect whether you are a newly married couple or a family on a vacation. You can opt for a sledge ride here to add to the fun. On the way back from the peak, capture heartwarming candid moments with the local fauna - lambs, rabbits and pigeons.
