Getting to know... Katie Derham

I always look forward to the new Proms season. It's my 13th year hosting the TV and radio coverage and it really is a fantastic job.

There's nothing quite like the buzz in the Royal Albert Hall; the audiences are so attentive and enthusiastic.

The Proms have finally returned to normal postCovid. So we have all the big international orchestras back and hopefully we'll be packed to the rafters, with 6,000 bums on seats.

One of my highlights is the Last Night of the Proms in September. It's always epic from a presenting point of view, with an electric atmosphere. Everyone throws themselves into it with flags and fancy outfits.
