Once ranked amongst the world’s top 25 tennis players, after retiring from professional sport at 21, Annabel Croft became a star of TV entertainment and tennis presenting. She recently competed in Strictly Come Dancing and is now taking on another challenge, answering Woman’s 10 Burning Questions…
1 What do you always have in the fridge?
Denhay bacon. Bacon is often cooked with sugar but Denhay isn’t. I always have salad, cucumber, cheese, green vegetables like broccoli or green beans and whole organic milk. I buy a lot of very simple, straight-from-source ingredients and always keep organic salmon because when my kids come over, if they want a quick meal, I can grill them a piece and serve it with some hollandaise or mayonnaise.
2 What do you keep in your handbag?
A lipstick and lip liner, my little wallet, a hair tie, usually some earrings, a nail file to sort out those drive-you-mad ragged nail edges and homeopathic remedies. Right now I’ve got aconite, which is for treating a sore throat. The minute a sore throat is coming on, pop in an aconite and it usually nails it! I also carry arnica gel, which is good for bruising. I’ve been into homeopathy for at least 25 years and always want to share what I know. On the Strictly Come Dancing tour I shared around my vitamins and minerals to help the dancers. Vito wasn’t feeling well and Nadiya was coughing and spluttering so I gave her lots of vitamin D and zinc.
