'AN ORCHESTRATED REALITY SHOW'

One of the many 'truth bombs' to come out of Harry and Meghan's explosive Netflix docu-series was the claim that their BBC engagement interview was an 'orchestrated reality show'.
'AN ORCHESTRATED REALITY SHOW'

When I watched Meghan saying this, I confess to being somewhat surprised.

It turns out I wasn't the only one! I distinctly remember the Sussexes' then press secretary telling me that they had requested the hugely respected Mishal Husain as their interviewer. Yet just five years later, in 2022, Meghan effectively claimed that the whole thing was an Establishment set-up to exploit her as some naive victim and the whole thing was 'rehearsed'.

And to add insult to injury, Meghan privately complained that the Radio 4 presenter 'wasn't empathetic enough, wasn't warm enough' to conduct the interview, according to a senior royal source.

At the time, the BBC rejected the allegation that the interview was 'rehearsed' as 'simply untrue', while Mishal commented wryly, 'We know recollections may vary on this particular subject.' Though Meghan's version of events will differ, there's no evidence that what she claimed at the time wasn't accurate.

Lies or truth - there are always two sides to a story. So I thought it was interesting Mishal has now broken her silence on the matter.
