It’s a new blow for Prince William, and one that will almost certainly deepen the rift between the Sussexes and the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Defiant Prince Harry has announced that in 2027, the Invictus Games – the event he founded for wounded and sick service personnel – will take place in Birmingham, rather than Washington DC, which also bid for the Games.
And, as I understand, Harry played a large part in bringing the Games to the city. They will therefore take place in the UK for the first time since relations between the brothers fell apart.
And, to make things even more interesting, I have been told Meghan will almost certainly attend, in what could only be described as a bitter blow to William. The Prince of Wales has remained quiet about his sister-inlaw, but column inches will tell you he is no fan. Prince Harry himself claimed his brother warned him not to propose to Meghan, out of fear their relationship was moving ‘too fast’.
