Good Morning Britain's Charlotte Hawkins on turning 50, motherhood and what it was really like being on Strictly
JULIE ANN TRAINOR
I'll start having TWEAKMENTS NEXT YEAR'

With her youthful glow, it's hard to believe Charlotte Hawkins turns 50 next year. Despite being a regular fixture on Good Morning Britain since its inception a decade ago, the newsreader clearly doesn't let her early starts get in the way of her healthy lifestyle. The star tells Woman she goes to the gym, does yoga and swims - as well as juggling taking care of her nine-year-old daughter, Ella-Rose, and her job on Good Morning Britain! Here, speaking to Woman at the TRIC Awards in London, the former Strictly star reveals how she deals with those 2.45am alarms, why taking part in Strictly was 'hell' and why she always wants to look her best.

Hi Charlotte, it's great to see you! You look incredible!

It took hours [laughs] but it's nice to be able to dress up and have a glass of champagne!

You're turning 50 next year, yet you look years younger - what is your secret?

I know next year is a big year. I don't really know what it is. I think it's just living life as best as I can. I sleep as well as I can, and I drink lots of water.

Although, I don't get as much sleep as I should do [due to my early starts at Good Morning Britain]. I get up at 2.45am every morning for work, but we have an amazing hair and make-up team at the studio, so that's the secret to success actually - having a helping hand and someone to point us in the right direction.
