Things haven’t exactly been plain sailing since Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley took over as the main hosts of This Morning back in March. While over a million viewers tuned in for their debut episode, just two months later it was reported that over half had already switched off, with the show pulling in fewer than 500,000 viewers.
Ben, 49, and Cat, 47, have faced harsh criticism from fans, who have branded the duo ‘boring’ and ‘dull’ – many have even admitted that they’ve ‘stopped watching’ since the pair took the helm.
And adding salt to the wound, Cat and Ben both recently missed out on a National Television Award (NTA) nomination for Best TV Presenter, with Friday host Alison Hammond instead being nominated in the category.
So is the negativity surrounding Cat and Ben’s big move to the show beginning to get too much for them?
