GEORGE & AMAL FIGHTING OVER THEIR KIDS!

GEORGE & AMAL FIGHTING OVER THEIR KIDS!

After a busy year of globetrotting, George Clooney was looking forward to keeping things close to home. After all, he recently dropped $1.5 million on extensive renovations to make his long-time LA bachelor pad more family-friendly for his wife Amal and five-year-old twins Alex and Ella.

Sources note George, 61, spent most of last year in Australia and then hit the promotional trail hard for Ticket To Paradise and is now very much looking forward to accepting a little work locally, but more importantly - putting his feet up and watching his children grow.

Unfortunately for George, his London-based wife has other ideas! Insiders reveal Amal, 44, has taken one look at the education system in the US and is running for the hills.

"She wants to take Alex and Ella to the UK for school, where she believes they will be safer."

Woman's Day understands George was "shocked" by Amal's decision.

"It's an abrupt U-turn from everything they've been planning ever since the twins were born - they agreed that they would be raised in the States," says a source.

"The whole reason they changed everything about his house was so the children could grow up in LA, and now Amal wants to run off back to London with his children. It's causing a lot of tension," explains the insider, who says if Amal gets her way, George would be without his children for a 13-week school term.
