Do you believe that a life void of emotions is like a life half lived or being half alive? Do you agree that sentiments of fondness and tenderness, expressed or received, bring rich texture and colour to our lives?
I'm happy if my thoughts align with yours. I preserved these jewels for four years before I organised them. I call it a Wall of Love. It has emotion. It has warmth, appreciation, and gratitude.
Charles Portis said, "If I had received good instruction as a child, I would be with my family today and at peace with my neighbours."
When we read such astute thoughts, we would all agree that one of the most primordial roles of parents is teaching their kids how to live fully, gracefully, and with gratitude. At this moment, multiple thoughts are occupying my mind. Without further ado, let me jump at my attention focus.
If you have a child or a grandchild in the pre-primary age group, this communication will help you. A spoonful of research with a bucketful of expert opinions aided with bowls of personal thoughts had me embroidering this frame.
Studies suggest kids will be happier when they develop to find their groove inside the home.
In the current canvas of thoughts, I chronicle Love. The other is gratitude. Both are learnable skills. If these don't come naturally to children, elders must impart them.
Kicking off
Before she hung up the phone, my daughter said to my granddaughter, "I love you, baby." The latter responded, "I love you too!"
I asked her what 'love you too' meant. Do you know this?
I also told her it was a mere statement. Its actual meaning would come through when we translate it into emotion and make it actionable.
