According to many cultures, including Indian culture, money is the root cause of all evils and desiring it is a sin. This notion prevents many Indians from discussing it and its management with their progeny. While schools and colleges lay an emphasis on academic and professional skills, financial planning is seldom ever taught. Most of us end up working long hours, just to make meagre money and sadly, even end up incurring debts and liabilities. Though we may manage to gain a veneer of respectability by becoming doctors, engineers and lawyers, we are rarely able to become rich in the literal sense of the term.
So, can a person who is not born rich, still plan to lead a luxurious life in the future? The answer is yes. This shift from lower middle class or middle class to becoming a crorepati is possible by changing one's attitude towards money, constantly educating oneself and by learning some skills-which will be later discussed. Also, remember one golden rule the rich don't work for money; they make money work for them!
Change Your Mindset
As the businessman and author of bestselling book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad would advise, one has to change one's perspective towards money from considering it as the fundamental cause of evil to the enabler of everything noble. Before thinking of buying a high-priced piece of jewellery, visiting a foreign country or studying in an expensive institution, humans are quick to say, "I can't afford this." This sort of dead-end thinking is the result of cerebral laziness and closes our mind off to all the possible ways in which we can make money. Instead of dismissing something as beyond your reach, shift your thinking pattern to "How can I buy this?" Being open to possibilities stimulates your brain and makes it come up with new, innovative ideas to generate wealth.
