When most people think of Orlando, they think of one thing: Disney World. But while the home of the world's most famous mouse is great for a Floridian family break with children, there is much more here to excite travelers of every generation. Get stuck into the sun-drenched landscapes, superb shopping, and eclectic entertainment. Still, need convincing? Highs average at 24C, even during the months of December and January.
Explore parks of every kind
Of course, you'll probably want to visit Walt Disney World (disneyworld.co.uk). It's popular for a reason, with four enormous theme parks plus water parks to discover. Magic Kingdom is great for families with younger children who want to see Cinderella's castle or soar on a Dumbo-themed flying elephant ride. EPCOT, with its science-based attractions, is great for teens and adults. Disney's Hollywood Studios has movie magic for all ages (don't miss the spooky Tower of Terror ride). Animal Kingdom, meanwhile, has an area themed around the Avatar films, and an African-inspired safari with real wildlife.
