During a break from her 8065 Tour-celebrating 80 years of life and 65 years in music-Patti LaBelle is busier than ever. She's bringing confidence to women over 50 as a QVC Q50 Ambassador, and she's expanding her "Patti's Good Life" food line. But at Thanksgiving, she looks forward to slowing down and taking it easy with family, food and fun.
"I buy 10 of my own sweet potato 'Patti's Pies' in the store," the singer says with a laugh of her holiday stress reliever. "They taste just like the ones I'd make, so why not make it easy on myself?"
And for the rest of the fixings, Patti's grandkids, Gia, Leyla and Zuri Jr., will be on deck to help. "They cut up the carrots; we have a blast," Patti says. Here, more of Patti's joyful tips and tricks.
Don't miss Patti's new projects
Patti's upcoming album, 8065, is set for release next year, and the "New Attitude" singer has high hopes for it. "I want this project to go triple platinum!" she says with a smile. In addition, Patti's Good Life food line, which launched with a line of hot sauces in 2007, has expanded into desserts and frozen meals. All of the recipes are Patti's own creations and are available at Walmart, Target and other grocery stores. Her newest item-Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix is a breakfast favorite of her grandkids and can be found at Kroger.
