Felipe Massa is under huge pressure, as the destiny of his career in Formula 1 hinges on how he performs in the remaining races of the 2012 season. It’s been an incredible season so far, and paying tribute to it we have this 300 page special review of the first 11 races, coinciding with the (mandatory) mid-season break for the Formula 1 world.

The British Grand Prix weekend was a big one for Mark Webber, made even bigger a few day afterwards as Red Bull confirmed him for yet another year in the team.
The Silverstone weekend started off very wet - then all was forgiven as the sun shone brightly for the race itself, which turned out to be an intriguing affair as Webber turned the tables on Alonso.

Fernando Alonso is no stranger to momentous wins - one need only look back on his career at Ferrari for wins that defied predictions, starting with his first race for the Maranello squad...
He did it in Malaysia and now against all odds, from 11th on the grid. Maximum points and another remarkable tale for his legend.
On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton’s new found ‘maturity’ went AWOL after clashing with known brawler Pastor Maldonado. There’s a very fine line between hero and zero in F1.

Incredibly, Montreal delivered the seventh winner out of seven races. Lewis Hamilton - love him or not - thrived on the script that fate dished out to him, dealing with the circumstances with a new found maturity.
It was also great to see the ‘new’ faces of Romain Grosjean and Sergio Perez back on the podium - the pair rapidly establishing themselves as part of the new force in the sport.
We take an in-depth look at the weekend in Canada with interviews with the top three, dissecting what went wrong with Red Bull and Ferrari, while reporting on all the Formula 1 news during the past week.

Six from six or six out of six - call it whatever you wish - Formula 1 is rocking big time at the moment. Most recent winner Mark Webber barged his way into title contention with a supremely controlled victory on the mean streets of Monte Carlo.

Early May is always a bittersweet month, no matter what year, as we are confronted with memories of two fatal accidents which stole from us two of the sport’s most loved stars – Ayrton Senna (1 May 1994) and Gilles Villeneuve 8 May 1982) – we did our Ayrton homage in the last issue and this week we pay tribute to Gilles.

Prior to the Bahrain Grand Prix world champions Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel were being written off. They simply were not the dominant force of a year earlier. In Bahrain the downfall theories went to shreds as Vettel bounced back to secure a hard fought and deserved victory. It’s is always great for F1 when a driver wins his first grand prix, a coming of age no matter how young or old the driver is - in this instance, after another action packed race, Nico Rosberg finally did the business. Rosberg’s victory in China for Mercedes on Sunday made him only the third son of a winning Formula One driver to triumph in the sport since the championship started in 1950. Graham Hill and Damon Hill, Gilles Villeneuve and Jacques Villeneuve - now Nico and Keke Rosberg. Both Villeneuve and Hill (of junior variety) went on to become world champions....
