Jim goes round the world: When Jim Wilkinson signed up for his wartime military service, he didn’t anticipate that he would enjoy the experience of a lifetime when his unit was amongst the first Allied forces to land back into Hong Kong after peace was declared in 1945. Although he was worried he may have been contravening military regulations, Jim kept a meticulous written record of the 678-day trip. And as soon as he landed in the Far East, he bought a camera to record many of those memories...
