Ever since the official establishment of the SPCA 98 years ago, enthusiastic volunteers have been our strong and unrelenting backing; it is only with their valuable time and unremitting efforts that the SPCA can provide a number of animal welfare and education services to the community, allowing more animals and citizens to receive help. This issue’s cover story introduces to readers the SPCA’s diverse volunteer service areas, so that citizens from all ages and backgrounds can contribute their strengths and talents. Pawprint is a triannual magazine published by The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) (SPCA(HK))and is distributed to approximately 30,000 readers who are concerned about animal welfare issues or are interested in learning about and promoting responsible pet ownership. Pawprint offers interesting articles on a variety of topics which range from veterinary health issues and animal rescue work to animal welfare programmes and happy adoption stories. It also shares with readers the SPCA(HK)’s works within the local community and in Mainland China. Each issue features a unique cover story on a compelling and important animal issue, provides facts and tips on pet care, offers news relating to animal events and also includes an educational children’s corner.
