We are officially in Spring, although the weather still seems to be in the chapter of winter! Not that we are complaining, the rain is very welcome, and I think we are just all very excited for the warmer months to come.

It’s just flown right by, hasn’t it? A long and tumultuous year has wrapped up, and the first month of 2017 is upon us. We do hope, travellers, that you got the chance at R&R that you thoroughly earned this holiday, and that you’re ready to navigate the ups and downs and twists and turns of the coming year – and, of course, that you’ll find the time to explore the wonders of this beautiful nation with us.

But right now, for most of us, it’s back to – ugh – work. It’s difficult to get going, we know – very, very difficult. Why not escape for just a few minutes more? Join us as we take another trek across South Africa, marvelling at such wonders as the seaside spectacle of Coffee Bay, the rooibos-rich beauty of Clanwilliam, and cross over the border to check out the wild wonder of Uganda’s gorilla trips.

And of course, as usual, we’ll be showcasing just a few of the renowned accommodation establishments that have made this country so beloved among travellers, demonstrating why the winners of 2016’s Sanlam Top Destination Awards are where you should be laying your head on your next trip. We’ll also notify you of everything from the big events kicking off the year, where you might lose yourself in amidst the hustle and bustle, and the quiet spots most ideal for enjoying a peaceful picnic.

November’s here, and how the year’s just sped by! We’re two months away from kicking off 2017; and we’re all about helping you make sure that you don’t waste a moment of these last two months!

We’re always on about new years’ resolutions; but what about end of year resolutions? Think up a few now – what are some things you really want to see yourself getting done by the time this year is out?

This month, we’ve taken a trip down to the shining shorelines of South Africa, and investigated some of its world-famous Blue Flag beaches, as well as the enchanting village of Chintsa on the Eastern Cape coast. We’re all looking forward to some sun-soaked fun this month; but please remember to be environmentally responsible this holiday, and clean after yourself. We all want to come back to a beach that’s as beautiful as we left it next year.

Of course, if the shoreline isn’t your scene, we’ve also popped over to the gorgeous Western Cape town of Greyton – “Little England”, as it’s sometimes known – and the gorgeous expanse of natural wonder that is the Bavianskloof.

And of course, as usual, we’ve also paid a visit to a few of the many fine accommodation instructions found across the country, and picked out a variety of ways in which you – and the family – might entertain yourselves this month.
