Gujarat is an absolute treat for the nature lovers as its rich variety of flora and fauna makes home to 402 species of animals and 45 species of birds. The jungles of Gujarat are home to a sizeable population of extinct species namely Sloth Bear, Asiatic Lions, Greater Flamingo, Blackbuck, Indian Wild Ass, Indian Bustard, to name a few. Gujarat is significantly famous for its wildlife icon of Lions that are found in the Gir reserve.

Other then Giri there are various other National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries in Gujarat namely Jessore Sloth Bear Sanctuary, Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary, Barda Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, Gaga Wildlife Sanctuary, Mitiyala Wildlife Sanctuary, Pania Wildlife Sanctuary, Shoolpaneshwar Wild Life Sanctuary, Narayan Sarovar Wildlife Sanctuary are some of the ideal places for an action-packed wildlife holiday in Gujarat. All these wildlife reserves offer an unmatched journey into the wilderness.

The Gujarat state of western India has four National Parks and twenty-one Wildlife Sancturies which are managed by the Forest Department of the Government of Gujarat.
