British Alpine Basics

The British Alpine was developed in Great Britain in the early 1900s from the Toggenburg (of Swiss origin), native British goats, and Nubian genetics. Between 1924 and 1934, six females and three males, all bred from a line of excellent milkers, were imported to South Africa.

DESCRIPTION

The British Alpine is a large, tall, rangy goat. The breed’s tall, slender frame makes it well suited to browsing, and it does well on a bulky, high-fibre diet.
