LUCY STEWART added to her haul of national titles when she became the Scottish 1.25m champion and 1.20m champion within two weeks of claiming the Scottish 1.35m indoor title.
It was Cancun II, whom she has produced since a six-year-old, who headed a jump-off field of 10 in the 1.25m class.
The 12-year-old gelding also won this year’s 1.15m members cup at the national championships and was the silver league champion at Horse of the Year Show (HOYS) in 2018.
“He’s really become a superstar and has won several championships all over the country for a good couple of years. He tries his heart out every time he’s in the ring,” Lucy said.
“It was a really quick jump-off and there were a lot of good pros in it with good horses. I was fifth to go so I had to do everything I could and thankfully it was good enough. He just felt incredible.”
Lucy has had a strong season with her three rides, and her other top horse Glow DK took the 1.20m class.
