A LIGHTLY-SHOWN threeyear-old filly not only fulfilled her owner-breeder’s lifelong dream, but followed in the footsteps of an illustrious relation when standing in the overall Cuddy supreme inhand spotlight.
It was only the fifth outing for Sally McMillan’s super-elegant riding pony Heronsmill Tiger Lily, but she belied her lack of mileage to head a 13-strong class with in-hand debutant Matt McGivern,and then blossomed again in the main arena.
Lily is out of Copybush Eye Of The Tiger, whose full-brother, the prolific stallion Copybush Catchphrase, won the same accolade in 1994. Their breeder is Sally’s great friend, Sarah Baker, who now produces Lily and lent her the “winning rug” for luck.
