An eventer whose horse was ‘sent fl ying’ in a collision with a car wants police to take more action to help riders.
Eventer Gary Foggon’s horse Who’s A Boozer was “sent flying” when a car hit him from behind in Derbyshire on 20 May.
Gary hit his head but managed to recapture the six-year-old, who appeared to have escaped serious injury, and called the police.
“They weren’t very helpful,” he told H&H. “They said it was nothing to do with them, that it was a matter for the insurance.
“I was covered in mud, blood pouring out of my arm, but the officer didn’t fill in an accident report, breathalyse the driver, call an ambulance although I had a head injury or look at the place where it had happened.”
