PRINCESS PEA ROPES IN LONG–TIME FRIEND, AD100 ARCHITECT SAURABH DAKSHINI OF STUDIO ORGANON TO CARVE OUT A SPACE OF SILENCE AND CREATIVITY FOR HERSELF AND HER FAMILY

PERFORMANCE ARTIST

When AD last caught up with New Delhi-based creative Princess Pea in 2017, she allowed us a glimpse into her idea of home: a languid place where you could immerse yourself in the fantastical worlds of Haruki Murakami or The Sound of Music on a lazy afternoon. “Home is where my head space is!” This time, the immensely private artist has opened the doors to the space she shares with her partner and their young son. When the family found a new home in the city in 2020, they turned to long-time friend Saurabh Dakshini of Studio Organon, an AD100 firm, trusting that their 15-year-long friendship meant he knew them intimately enough to be able to anticipate their needs largely unprompted. “Honestly, the house came together as purely his vision,” says Pea. Dakshini adds, “[The couple] didn’t want to see their home through their own eyes. They wanted somebody else who could see things from the outside. They asked me to find my own way of looking at how their lives could be, because I already knew how they lived.”
