Did You Upgrade?

As I was planning for the forthcoming financial year, I called out for my software  programmer to get me a report in a particular format. I was surprised to see that what usually used to take 2-3 days to prepare, took just 2-3 hours this time. The report was ready and that too in the format and specifications I wanted. On inquiry, it came to light that the software was upgraded and this helped in creating a more efficient report faster!

The start of a new financial year is a good time to review our financial plan and take stock of where we stand in relation to our goals. Accordingly, we evaluate, modify and make some changes in the light of developments that have occurred over the past year. One of the essential parts in this modification is the upgradation of technology.

If the computer or web browser is outdated, or a company fails to keep their systems up to date, it will hinder its productivity! Since the old device does not have the system requirements necessary to run the new program, it will run slowly or incompletely and will end up eating away a lot of time waiting for things to upload and/or download. And in today's competitive and fast world, time really matters. By upgrading the hardware and software, the programs run faster and it improves overall productivity in the office.
