The office anniversary was on the anvil, and the huddle started to murmur regarding the celebrations. The huddle murmur soon became a sound across the organisation, and everyone was a buzz with ideas of celebrations.

Celebrations are always the fragment of our society. Anything new, be it a birth of a child, or a product launch or wedding celebrations galore. There have been societies, who spend lifetime of wealth on a wedding, and now the new word on the block 'destination weddings', and theme parties and innovative concoctions. The launch of a service line or a branch office, has to be done to attract the positive vibrations. The office anniversary days will add vigour to the team. The birthday celebrations would bring the families close.

In the financial world vibrations are most important. Yet there are other matters, which stand up as a question mark. There is financial prudence that does analyse the impact of celebrations. In the world of commerce, the word celebrations should be associated with budgets, costings, and vital part is 'impact assessments'. The question as to “Why are we doing this celebration” should find a pivot answer. There should be a fulcrum of gravity called 'benefit' to the enterprise around which celebrations should be designed.

Today Return on investment is a part of every entity. Celebrations should yield the benefit either in terms of employee happiness, revenue increase, brand establishment, organisational togetherness and the like. A personal family wedding is done at the behest of a personal choice, but an organisation anniversary has to be done with a purpose.

The purpose has to be defined in an organisation celebration. Every celebration need not be a splurge of money; every 'Founder’s day' need not be an established hit on future expansion.
