R performance model to top forthcoming small SUV. Likely to get 300bhp turbo
VOLKSWAGEN is working on a range of hot SUVs that will wear the R badge, as the German firm looks to broaden its high-performance R product line-up.
Speaking at the annual GTI Treffen VW meet at Lake Wörthersee in Austria, the brand’s boss Herbert Diess told Auto Express that while the GTI brand will be reserved for performance-orientated hot hatches, the R badge has more potential.
