Meridian
The Meridian is Jeep’s answer to the demand for three-row SUVs. Based on the Compass, the Meridian is nearly identical to the Jeep Commander sold in South American markets. It enters production in May 2022 and launch should take place soon after. The Meridian nameplate was thoughtfully chosen for India and recently announced through the bold marketing campaign: Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Through this campaign, the unique Meridian name is explained as a result of a legendary journey down the length of India, crossing each state that falls on the Meridian 77-degree east. Jeep also claims that the Meridian is 80 per cent localised and will be manufactured in India at their plant in Ranjangaon near Pune. Hence we expect the company to price it competitively, likely to undercut the MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner.
