The Southern Rock Legend ...

Craven Moorehead
David Allan Coe

THE ORIGINAL BAD BOY OF COUNTRY MUSIC

Craven: We are at the Born To Ride Day of the Dead Jam and I’m sitting out here with my friend David Allan Coe. Ladies and Gentlemen, the world famous David Allan Coe! Millions and millions of hits, how are you doing today, pal?

David Allan Coe: Well, I’m doing okay considering everything. I’m doing good. The rain bothers me a bit.

CM: Me too. I’m losing my voice. David: Yeah, me too.

CM: Well David, I didn’t want to get into great details about it, but we were looking at a picture of that accident you were involved in. That was pretty damned bad, David. You’re a lucky man and blessed to be here!

DAC: Yeah, it was a very bad wreck and on top of it being a bad wreck it was all over the news that I had died. So people were calling my wife asking, “Is he dead?” So she said, “No, he’s not dead.”

CM: Well, a lot of people have rumored everyone’s death at one time. Maybe you’re more famous when you’re gone than when you’re actually here. But I want to ask you something; can you remember how many hits you’ve recorded? I know you’ve recorded hundreds and hundreds of songs. You’ve had so many chart-topping hits! You’re a country music icon. I mean literally. Give me a little history on that.

HONORING THEIR COURAGE AND SACRIFICE, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

My Uncle *Gee' was my dad's father figure in his life for many years because his father worked many hours. He came from Italy and worked with marble but than later became ill and couldn't do much with my dad. That's when Uncle 'Gee' stepped in and helped my dad in life as a father figure. So in this month of June. as a special Father's Day tribute, we would like to honor my Uncle "Gee' Fidel Galletti who was a real WWII war hero pilot who flew B-17s. Most of all, he was my dad's hero This story is courtesy of The 390th Memorial Museum and my cousin. Marie Gallletti, Mitchell.
