John Dean hops over to Oz for the Expo gathering
Being a resident of Tasmania, it’s just a hop over the water to the mainland for me to get to the Land Rover Club of Australia’s Expo.
The man responsible for the event, Greg Stuart, couldn’t have been happier with the turnout for 2017. ’When we first put on this event back in 1999, it attracted about 80 vehicles. At the time, we thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this”, but now it’s become an absolute monster.’
The hundreds of Land Rover vehicles, owners and enthusiasts that packed Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park outside Sydney over the show weekend in September bore out his words.
Series and Defenders, Discoverys, Range Rovers of all ages, ex-Australian Army Perenties and even the odd Freelander were on display. The sheer number and diversity of vehicles was testimony to the growing and evolving interest in Land Rovers in this country.
